Heard Museum Guild North Scottsdale Liaison

The Heard Museum North Scottsdale Liaison is appointed by the President to serve as liaison between the Guild Board and Guild activities at that location.The Heard Museum North Scottsdale Liaison

  • Is a voting member of the Board of Directors
  • Accepts and carries out such duties as may be assigned by the President of the Board of Directors in addition to those stated.
  • Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and Guild and other such meetings as required by the President.
  • Acknowledges by thank you note or other means, appreciation for work done by Committee Chairs.
  • Reviews the content of the public section of the Guild website to determine the accuracy and currency of the information pertaining to the work of the committee. Sends necessary changes to webmaster@heardguild.org.
  • At the end of the year, reviews the committee job description posted on the Guild website and in the Committee Notebook. They should both be the same. Makes any necessary changes and sends to the President Elect and to webmaster@heardguild.org.
  • Attends the Notebook Turnover Meeting in late Spring and submits in triplicate the annual Committee Report using the Sample Committee Report as a guide. These reports will be distributed to the incoming Heard Museum North Liaison, the President and one copy will be file in the Museum Library and Archives. Also, a copy of the report in MSWord format preferably, or other text format should be e-mailed to webmaster@heardguild.org for posting on the Guild website.


  • Prepare and submit a budget when asked by the Treasurer.
  • Maintain regular contact with Heard North Scottsdale museum staff to promote Guild programs and to facilitate communication with the Board.
  • Aid in promoting Museum and Guild membership. Represent Heard North Scottsdale in new member functions to this end.
  • Work with the Heard Museum North Scottsdale Committees in promoting programs initiated at that location.
  • Communicate with The Guild Tourism and Community Outreach committee Chairs to be aware of their activities in the area.
  • Submit a monthly article to Artifacts to inform the Guild membership of activities, events and the need for volunteers for Heard Museum North Scottsdale events.



  • Submit a budget for the year to the Treasurer

September – May

  • Duties outlined above continue throughout the year.
  • Organize refreshments using donations from Guild members who live near Heard Museum North for the monthly Guild Meeting assigned by the Hospitality committee.


  • Attend the Notebook Turnover meeting and submit 3 copies of the annual report. One goes to the incoming President and Heard Museum North Scottsdale Liaison and the third is placed in the Library & Archives. Also email the report in MSWord format, or similar text format, to the webmaster.

The Heard Museum Guild Board encourages innovation and process improvement, but new initiatives and/or different approaches, activities, or actions must be discussed with the assigned Coordinator and/or Guild Executive Committee and, if necessary, approved by the Guild Board and/or Museum.
