Guild Technology Chair

The Guild Technology Chair is appointed by the Guild President to serve as liaison between the Guild Board of Directors, the Technology Management Committee, and the committee’s technical and support Specialists.

The Guild Technology Chair

  • Is a voting member of the Guild Board of Directors
  • Accepts and carries out such duties as may be assigned by the Guild President and Guild Board of Directors.
  • Attends all meetings of the Guild Board of Directors and Guild and other meetings as required by the Guild President.
  • Acknowledges by thank you note or other means, appreciation for work done by Technology Management Committee Members.
  • Reviews the content of the public section of the Guild website to determine the accuracy and currency of the information pertaining to the work of the Technology Committee. Sends necessary changes to the Guild Secretary for review.
  • At the end of the year, reviews the Chair and Committee job descriptions posted on the Guild website. Makes any necessary changes and sends those changes to the Guild Secretary for review.
  • Submits an annual Report using “Instructions for Year End Reporting” in the Board Members Handbook as a guide.
  • Works closely with the Technology Management Committee; calls and attends meetings of this committee when deemed necessary.
  • Assists the Guild President in filling the Technology Management Committee Chairmanship.
  • Recruits and fills the Technical Specialist/Support positions.
  • Assists in orienting new Technical/Support Specialists to their responsibilities and monitors progress during the year.
  • Works with all Guild Coordinators and Committees to understand all technology needs of the Guild.

Time Line

August

  • Lead the Technology Management Committee budget process.

September – April

  • Act as liaison between committee, the Technical/Support Specialists, and the Board of Directors.
  • Fulfill Committee commitments to the Guild and Guild Board of Directors.
  • Direct and complete any annual Committee action plans or projects.

April

  • Review Committee descriptions on the Guild website, make changes as appropriate and send modifications to the Guild Secretary for review.
  • Write and submit the Committee Annual Report using “Instructions for Year End Reporting” in the Board Members Handbook as a guide.

 

The Heard Museum Guild Board encourages innovation and process improvement, but new initiatives and/or different approaches, activities, or actions must be discussed with the assigned Coordinator and/or Guild Executive Committee and, if necessary, approved by the Guild Board and/or Museum.
