Conditions for Entry:

Accepted artists (also referred to as artist/lender) may enter Juried Competition only for the classification(s) in which they were juried into the Fair and adhere to the standards for the classification(s) and division(s). Click here for Classifications and Divisions and Standards.

All art must have been made in the last 2 years.

Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of art in total with the following exceptions owing to space limitations:

  • Only 2 pieces may be submitted by Youth Artists in total.
  • Only 2 pieces may be submitted for Classification III: 2-Dimensional Art in total.

Artists may also enter one of their three pieces (one of their 2 pieces for Classification III and Youth) into the Open Standards Classification XI. Click here for an Open Standards Application Form. Artists must explain on the Open Standards Form why the artwork does not meet one or more of the established Standards.

  • For example: An artist is juried into Jewelry. Instead of submitting 3 jewelry pieces that meet the Jewelry Standards, the artist decides to enter two pieces into the Jewelry Classification and one object made of plastic or other non-standard material or technique into the Open Standards Classification.

Collaborating artists:

  • Collaborative pieces count as one item for each artist.
  • All collaborating artists must be juried into the Fair.
  • At least one of the collaborators must be juried into the Classification in which the item is entered with the exception of Open Standards.

All entries must be available for sale during the Show & Sale on March 5 -7. Be sure to fill out the sale price on the entry form.

Exception: With the permission of the artist/lender, the Heard Museum may buy in advance of the opening of the Fair.  The artist may display the Museum’s purchase in the virtual booth with a card stating that the item is a Museum purchase.

The artist/lender gives the Heard Museum the right to photograph any entry for record purposes and promotional publicity.
