Volunteer for the Indian Fair
The Guild’s biggest project each year is the annual Indian Fair & Market. The Heard Museum campus becomes a tent city welcoming thousands of visitors. Over 600 American Indian artists gather to sell their creations and Indian demonstrators are on hand to showcase their talents. Indian singers, dancers and musicians delight the audience with their performances and the air is filled with the aromas of a variety of ethic foods. It is a cultural celebration and volunteers are excited about being a part of it.
A sample of the many volunteer opportunities available at the Fair include:
Installing the signs needed to identify locales and direct traffic.
Selling specially designed Indian Fair & Market tee shirts.
Providing hospitality to the assembled Indian artists.
Providing artists with some temporary relief at their booths.
Selling the scrip tickets used to purchase food at the fair.
Assist in the preparation and sale of such ethic foods as Fry Bread.
