The Heard Museum Guild is pleased to present another tour to the Alfonso Ortiz International Music Festival in Alamos, Mexico. This event will take place Jan 17-23, 2008. The tour includes: All motorcoach transportation. Wonderful hotel accommodations. Concert tickets. Experienced tour leader. Tours of San Carlos, Pearl farm on the Sea of Cortez, Alamos, Aduana, Huatabampo & Etchojoa and 16 wonderful meals.  This will be a delightful journey to the colonial pueblo of Alamos. Once one of the wealthiest silver mines in the Spanish empire, it is now a haven for a few Norte-Americanos who have restored historic haciendas back to their original glory and the "Silver Era". The participants of the tour will use these as our hotels while in Alamos. In the evening, attend a concert performance then stroll the cobblestone streets with the Estudiantina-a local group of 12th century style Spanish Troubadours as they serenade the local residents of this magical town.   Visit Aduana, the source of Alamos' enormous wealth. The Church here dates back to 1670 and is the site of the largest religious pilgrimage in northern Mexico. Experience the wonderful music, food and culture of Alamos during the most exciting festival of the year.
