The First Level of Involvement

Visitors are introduced to the Heard Museum in a number of ways: some attend one of the Museum’s major events such as Spanish Market, some are invited to a special program or private party on the premises, and some browse in the Museum shop. Most, however, come to look at the Museum exhibits. Once introduced, some visitors become interested enough to join the Museum. And, before long, many members begin looking for ways to become more involved.

A New Level of Commitment

Those Museum members who would like to increase their commitment to the Museum by becoming a volunteer can do that by joining the Heard Museum Guild. Membership in the Guild, the Heard Museum’s volunteer organization, is open to all Museum members.

The Range of Opportunities

Take a look at the Volunteer page to see all the various responsibilities that are undertaken by Guild members for the benefit of the Museum. Also browse the Travel, Education, and Events pages to review all the social, travel, dining, educational, and entertainment experiences that are available to members of the Guild.

Various Levels of Involvement

Within the Guild there are two levels of membership:

• An Associate member receives all of the benefits of Active membership but is not required to actively volunteer during the year.
• An Active member volunteers in the Library or at one of the Guild's major events or serves on one of the Guild's many committees.

Becoming the chair of a committee or assuming responsibility for an activity or event moves one to a higher level of involvement. Those interested in becoming even more involved can enroll in a seven month training program to become a docent. Finally, one can take on a leadership role by becoming an officer or member of the Guild’s Board of Directors.

Membership in the Heard Museum is a prerequisite for Guild Membership. For those who are not currently members of the Heard Museum, click here to join the Museum. Once your membership is accepted, close the window and you will return here and can then complete the Guild membership form.

For Museum members, the price of a Guild membership is $32.00 for Active membership (this includes a Guild nametag) or $35.00 for Associate membership. Associate members may separately purchase a Guild nametag if they wish.

	Clicking the "Join" button to the left will take you to an application form. Upon completion of that form please go to our On-line store where you can pay the appropriate dues. You will then receive by mail or e-mail your welcome packet.
	Clicking the "Renew" button to the left will take you to our On-line store where you can pay your dues. You may change your membership type from Active to Associate or vice-versa simply by paying the appropriate dues.
