About The Guild

Get Involved

It's a matter of interest

Visitors are introduced to the Heard Museum in a number of ways.  Some by attending one of the Museum’s major events such as Spanish Market.  Some by being invited to a special program or private party on the premises.  Some by browsing in the Museum shop.  Most, however, come to look at the Museum exhibits.  Once introduced, some visitors become interested enough to join the Museum.  And, before long, many members begin looking for ways to become more involved

The Guild - a new level of commtment

Joining the Guild represents a new level of commitment.  Those who join move from the role of passive member to that of active volunteer.  Instead of being the recipients of Museum programs and services, Guild members become the providers.

Various levels of inolvement

Within the Guild there are several levels of involvement.  One can choose to be only an occasional volunteer.  However, by becoming an active member of a committee, one can move up a level.  Becoming the chair of a committee or assuming responsibility for an activity or event moves one to higher level of involvement.  Those interested in becoming seriously involved can enroll in a seven month training program to become a docent.  Finally, one can take on a leadership role by becoming an officer or member of the Guild’s Board of Directors.
